When you are in search of
a new home, do remember that there are three types that you need to consider.
You can choose between a family house, a condo unit, or a townhouse. When you
are able understand the difference between these three, finding a place to live
in is easy, not to forget the fact that this is a home that suits your needs. The
more you know about your options, the more satisfied you will become without
the hassle.
If you are the type of person that is particular on your
privacy and flexibility, what you need is a stand alone home. It is commonly
known as a Single Family Home in any MLS listings. The fact that this was
designed for a typical family you also have the option to repaint the walls if
you want, because you own it ( unless you are renting the place). You just have
to remember that the cost of this type of property is higher when compared to a
condo unit or a town house. Another thing to consider is the maintenance of the
house. You will be the one responsible for mowing the yards, unlike in a
townhouse or a condo these are manage but you have to pay for some fees.
When you have low maintenance living and wanting a home at a
lower cost, your ideal place is a Condo. The thing is you don’t have a yard or
you don’t own any lot. You have to share the walls with your neighbors from above
and below, or on the left or the right of your unit. If you have plans of
selling the place in the future, you may choose the unit that is not surrounded
by many occupants. This will greatly influence the sale factor should you decide to sell it in the future.
If you want a little bit of a condo and little bit of a
Single Family Home, your choice is a townhouse. In townhouses, you also shared
a common wall but normally just one or two, unlike in a condo. Your neighbors
can be on either side but nothing on top or at the bottom. When buying a townhouse, the best buy is the end unit. If we talk about privacy, cost, and space getting a town home is a good
compromise.
